Animal Farm | Allegory – Satire – Fable

 Animal Farm By George Orwell

All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.” Allegory – Satire – Fable

1. Animal Farm By George Orwell

2. George Orwell British Author & Journalist

  • 1903-1950
  • Born in India
  • At that time India was a part of the British Empire, and Blair’s father, Richard, held a post as an agent in the Opium Department of the Indian Civil Service.
  • The Blair family was not very wealthy – Orwell later described them ironically as “lower-upper-middle class”. They owned no property, had no extensive investments; they were like many middle-class English families of the time, totally dependent on the British Empire for their livelihood and prospects.
  • Noted as a novelist and critic, as well as a political and cultural commentator
  • One of the most widely admired English-language essayists of the 20th century
  • Best known for two novels critical of totalitarianism in general, and Stalinism in particular:
  • Animal Farm
  • Nineteen Eighty-Four

“ Liberty is telling people what they do not want to hear.”

3. 1984

The novel, published in 1949, takes place in 1984 and presents an imaginary future where a totalitarian state controls every aspect of life, even people’s thoughts. The state is called Oceania and is ruled by a group known as the Party; its leader and dictator is Big Brother.

4. George Orwell and His Beliefs

  • Orwell was a person who had a reputation for standing apart and even making a virtue of his detachment.
  • This “outsider” position often led him to oppose the crowd.
  • Orwell’s beliefs about politics were affected by his experiences fighting in the Spanish Civil War.
  • He viewed socialists, communists, and fascists as repressive and self-serving.
  • He was skeptical of governments and their willingness to forsake ideas in favor of power.
  • Interesting Fact:
  • George Orwell’s real name was Eric Blair.

5. Why Animals?

In explaining how he came to write Animal Farm , Orwell says he once saw a little boy whipping a horse and later he wrote,

“ It struck me that if only such animals became aware of their strength we should have no power over them, and that men exploit animals in much the same way as the rich exploit the [worker].”

6. George Orwell in India

  • He was born in India and spent his early years there since his father held a post there.
  • He was a lonely boy who liked to make up stories and talk with imaginary companions.
  • As an adult, he worked for the Imperial Police in British occupied India.

7. What is Animal Farm?

A masterpiece of political satire, Animal Farm is a tale of oppressed individuals who long for freedom but ultimately are corrupted by assuming the very power that had originally oppressed them.

The story traces the deplorable conditions of mistreated animals who can speak and who exhibit many human characteristics. After extreme negligence by their owner, the animals revolt and expel Mr. Jones and his wife from the farm.

The tale of the society the animals form into a totalitarian regime is generally viewed as Orwell’s critique of the communist system in the former Soviet Union.

Interesting Fact: Orwell initially struggled to find a publisher for Animal Farm

8. Significance Today

But why – now that Soviet Communism has fallen and the Cold War is over –does Animal Farm deserve our attention? The answer lies in the power of allegory. Allegorical fables, because they require us to make comparisons and connections, can be meaningful to any reader in any historical period. The story of Animal Farm will always have lessons to teach us about the ways that people abuse power and manipulate others.

Orwell’s chilling story of the betrayal of idealism through tyranny and corruption is as fresh and relevant today as when it was first published in 1945.

9. Children’s Book? – No!

After Animal Farm was published in 1945, George Orwell discovered with horror that booksellers were placing his novel on children’s shelves. According to his housekeeper, he began traveling from bookstore to bookstore requesting that the book be shelved with adult works. This dual identity — as children’s story and adult satire — has stayed with Orwell’s novel for more than fifty years.

10. The Fable

The fable is one of the oldest literary forms – much, much older than the novel or the short story. A fable is usually short, written in either verse or prose, and conveys a clear moral or message. The earliest fables still preserved date back to 6th Century Greece B.C.E. The author of these fables, Aesop, used animal characters to stand for human “types.” For example, a fox character might embody the human characteristics of cunning and cleverness. Though Aesop’s animal fables were ostensibly about animals, they were really instructional tales about human emotions and human behavior.

11. Animal Fables

The most popular animal fables of the 20th Century are the Just So Stories (1902) written by Rudyard Kipling. Kipling’s fables were adapted by Disney in the movie The Jungle Book. Orwell admired Kipling and the Just So Stories would seem to have influenced the form of Animal Farm . Orwell took the short animal fable and expanded it to the length of a short novel in the form of an allegory .

12. Allegory

Most fables have two levels of meaning. On the surface, the fable is about animals. But on a second level, the animals stand for types of people or ideas. The way the animals interact and the way the plot unfolds says something about the nature of people or the value of ideas. Any type of fiction that has multiple levels of meaning in this way is called an allegory .

13. Allegory (cont’d)

Animal Farm is strongly allegorical, but it presents a very nice balance between levels of meaning. On the first level, the story about the animals is very moving. You can be upset when Boxer is taken away by the horse slaughterer without being too aware of what he stands for. But at the same time, each of the animals does serve as a symbol. The story’s second level involves the careful critique Orwell constructed to comment on Soviet Russia.

Boxer

14. Allegory (cont’d)

Yet there is no reason that allegory must be limited to two levels. It is possible to argue that Animal Farm also has a third and more general level of meaning. For instance, the pigs need not only represent specific tyrannical soviet leaders. They could also be symbols for tyranny more broadly: their qualities are therefore not simply the historical characteristics of a set of actual men but are the qualities of all leaders who rely on repression and manipulation.

Squealer, Snowball, & Napoleon

15. Satire

In a satire , the writer attacks a serious issue by presenting it in a ridiculous light or otherwise poking fun at it. Orwell uses satire to expose what he saw as the myth of Soviet socialism. Thus, the novel tells a story that people of all ages can understand, but it also tells us a second story— that of the real-life revolution.

Soviet Coat of Arms

16. Irony

Irony results when there is a disparity between what an audience would expect and what really happens. Orwell uses a particular type of irony – dramatic irony. He relies on the difference between what the animals understand and what we, the audience, can conclude about the situation at Animal Farm.

We know just what the animals know, but we can see so much more of its significance than they can. The conclusions we reach that the animals never quite get to – that the pigs are decadent, corrupt, and immoral – are all the more powerful because we arrive at them ourselves, without the narrator pointing these things out directly.

Napoleon overindulging himself. Snowball below the commandments.

17. Irony (cont’d)

Orwell uses dramatic irony to create a particularly subtle satire. Satire stages a critique of an individual, group, or idea by exaggerating faults and revealing hypocrisies. The dramatic irony of Animal Farm achieves this aim indirectly. We see the hypocrisy that the animals don’t and therefore understand in this backward fashion that the book is deeply critical of the pigs.

18. When History and Literature Merge

Critics often consider Animal Farm to be an allegory of the Russian Revolution. In the early 1900s, Russia’s Czar Nicholas II faced an increasingly discontented populace. Freed from feudal serfdom in 1861, many Russian peasants were struggling to survive under an oppressive government. By 1917, amidst the tremendous suffering of World War I, a revolution began. In two major battles, the Czar’s government was overthrown and replaced by the Bolshevik leadership of Vladimir Lenin. When Lenin died in 1924, his former colleagues Leon Trotsky, hero of the early Revolution, and Joseph Stalin, head of the Communist Party, struggled for power. Stalin won the battle, and he deported Trotsky into permanent exile. Czar Nicholas II Vladimir Lenin Joseph Stalin Leon Trotsky

19. Joseph Stalin

Once in power, Stalin began, with despotic urgency and exalted nationalism, to move the Soviet Union into the modern industrial age. His government seized land in order to create collective farms. Stalin’s Five Year Plan was an attempt to modernize Soviet industry. Many peasants refused to give up their land, so to counter resistance Stalin used vicious military tactics. Rigged trials led to executions of an estimated 20 million government officials and ordinary citizens. The government controlled the flow and content of information to the people, and all but outlawed churches.

Joseph Stalin

20. Napoleon = Joseph Stalin

  • Napoleon
  • Boar who leads the rebellion against Farmer Jones
  • After the rebellion’s success, he systematically begins to control all aspects of the farm until he is an undisputed tyrant.
  • Joseph Stain
  • The communist dictator of the Soviet Union from 1922-1953 who killed all who opposed him.
  • He loved power and used the KGB (secret police) to enforce his ruthless, corrupt antics.

21. Farmer Jones = Czar Nicholas II

  • Farmer Jones
  • The irresponsible owner of the farm
  • Lets his animals starve and beats them with a whip
  • Sometimes shows random kindness
  • Czar Nicholas II
  • Weak Russian leader during the early 1900s
  • Often cruel and brutal to his subjects
  • Displays isolated kindess

22. Snowball = Leon Trotsky

  • Snowball
  • Boar who becomes one of the rebellion’s most valuable leaders.
  • After drawing complicated plans for the construction of a windmill, he is chased off of the farm forever by Napoleon’s dogs and thereafter used as a scapegoat for the animals’ troubles.
  • Leon Trotsky
  • A pure communist leader who was influenced by the teachings of Karl Marx.
  • He wanted to improve life for people in Russia, but was driven away by Lenin’s KGB.

23. Characters

  • Old Major
  • An old boar whose speech about the evils perpetrated by humans rouses the animals into rebelling.
  • His philosophy concerning the tyranny of Man is named Animalism.
  • He teaches the animals the song “Beasts of England”
  • Dies before revolution
  • Karl Marx
  • The inventor of communism
  • Wants to unite the working class to overthrow the government.
  • Dies before the Russian Revolution

24. Who is Karl Marx?

Many of the ideals behind the Soviet revolution were based on the writings and teachings of Karl Marx. A German intellectual who lived in the mid-1800s, Marx believed that societies are divided into two segments, a working class and an owner class. The working class creates all the products, while the owner class enjoys all the benefits of these products. This class division leads to inequality and oppression of the working class. Marx’s objective was to create a classless society in which the work is shared by all for the benefit of all, and he believed revolution was the way to achieve this goal.

25. Characterization in Fables

We already know that a fable is a narration intended to enforce a useful truth. Fables have two important characteristics. First, they teach a moral or lesson. In Animal Farm, the moral involves Orwell’s views about Soviet politics. Second, the characters are most frequently animals. These animal characters often function as a satiric device to point out the follies of humankind. Though Old Major, Snowball, and Napoleon may represent Karl Marx, Leon Trotsky, and Joseph Stalin, many of the story characters are much more general. Some animals are grouped together as a single character—“the sheep,” “the hens,” and “the dogs.” Orwell also capitalizes on the traits generally associated with particular animals, such as sheep as followers and dogs as loyal.

26. Squealer & Boxer

  • Squealer
  • A big mouth pig who becomes Napoleon’s mouthpiece. Throughout the novel, he displays his ability to manipulate the animals’ thoughts through the use of hollow, yet convincing rhetoric.
  • Represents the propaganda department that worked to support Stalin’s image; the members of the department would use lies to convince the people to follow Stalin.
  • Boxer
  • A dedicated but dimwitted horse who aids in the building of the windmill but is sold to a glue-boiler after collapsing from exhaustion.
  • Represents the dedicated, but tricked communist supporters of Stalin. Many stayed loyal even after it was obvious Stalin was a tyrant. Eventually they were betrayed, ignored, and even killed by him.

Boxer Squealer

27. Jessie & Moses

  • Jessie
  • The farm’s sheepdog, she keeps tabs on the pigs and is among the first to suspect that something is wrong at Animal Farm.
  • Moses
  • A tame raven and sometimes-pet of Jones who tells the animals stories about a paradise called Sugarcandy Mountain.
  • Moses represents religion. Stalin used religious principles to influence people to work and to avoid revolt.

Jessie Moses

28. More Characters

Pilkington Jones’ neighbor, he finds a way to profit from Animal Farm by forming an alliance with the pigs.

Muriel A goat who believes in the rebellion, she watches as Animal Farm slips away from its founding principles.

Mollie A vain horse who resists the animal rebellion because she doesn’t want to give up the petting and treats she receives from humans. Mollie represents vain, selfish people in Russia and throughout the world who ignored the revolution and sought residence in more inviting countries.

Benjamin The most cynical of all the animals, the farm’s donkey doubts the leadership of the pigs but is faithfully devoted to Boxer. Benjamin represents all the skeptical people in Russia and elsewhere who weren’t sure revolution would change anything.

The Sheep Not tremendously clever, the sheep remind themselves of the principles of animalism by chanting “four legs good, two legs bad.”

The Dogs

Napoleon’s private army that used fear to force the animals to work; they killed any opponent of Napoleon. The dogs represent Stalin’s loyal KGB (secret police). The KGB were not really police, but mercenaries used to force support for Stalin.

30. Animalism = Communism

  • Animalism
  • Taught my Old Major
  • No rich, but no poor
  • Better life for workers
  • All animals are equal
  • Everyone owns the farm
  • Communism
  • Invented by Karl Marx
  • All people are equal
  • Government owns everything
  • People own the government

31. Animal Farm Revolution = Russian Revolution

  • Animal Farm Revolution
  • Was supposed to make life better for all, but . . .
  • Life was worse at the end.
  • The leaders became the same as, or worse than the other farmers (humans) they rebelled against.
  • Russian Revolution
  • Was supposed to fix the problems created by the Czar, but . . .
  • Life was even worse after the revolution.
  • Stalin made the Czar look like a nice guy.

“It Takes A Village” Democrat Marxist Nannyism is Creating a Generation of Village Idiots

Conservative Resurgence Published on May 23, 2019

Every post–Industrial Revolution “revolution” is only about unfettered power and is always heavily influenced by Karl Marx, whom Lenin was an acolyte of. There is no war more importantly waged by the “revolutionaries” than a class war — the basis of Marxism.

The opiate sold to the masses is that resources and capital are finite, hence the zeal against “capital”-ism, designed to make the masses junkies of the most addictive drug in man’s history: government dependency. The “new” Democrats — U.S. Representatives Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) — attack at will the “old” Democrats.

Omar was perfectly comfortable comparing President Trump with President Obama, calling the former president a “pretty face” whose “hope and change” shtick was utter balderdash. Tlaib admonished her Democratic Party for the same alleged Islamophobia rampant in the GOP. She also recently fantasized about her enemies floating dead in a river, as she proudly proclaimed that

“the Muslims are coming,”

Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.),

which is weird, because the Muslims have been here since our Founding. Recall Ocasio-Cortez’s “New party, who dis?” dis against former Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman, who has rendered himself obsolete due to his calls for some ideological balance. Note the wording: “new party.”

2020 Repercussions Old Democrat U.S. rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) seems to live in constant fear of these new Democrats, perhaps much the same way Tsar Nicholas II feared Lenin’s Bolsheviks. Pelosi never apologized for Omar’s recent, disgusting anti-Semitic remarks; looked as if she was walking on eggshells as she tempered expectations of the Leninist “Green New Deal”; and ran “Forrest Gump”-style with failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams’s asinine idea of 16-year-olds voting.

Pelosi claimed she’s “always” been in favor of 16-year-olds voting; I searched the internet for hours attempting to find a previous statement about this from Pelosi but found nothing. It’s astounding how easily these new Democrats got Pelosi to go along and keep quiet, sheeple-like. The declared 2020 Democrat candidates, such as Senators Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), are equally frightening new Democrats.

At the risk of hyperbole, never in American history has there been as dangerous a group of candidates as these. Lenin sought neither moderation nor compromise, and neither do these new Democrats.

Russia, Mueller, and McCabe — show me a man, and I’ll show you his crime; the economy; the Wall and border security; transgender faux science; murdering babies the day they’re born; Redcoat Hitler Youth anti-gun cult creepy kid activists; slavery reparations; three “genders”; interrogating judicial nominees and Cabinet nominees about sodomy and relationships; the rejection of the peaceful transfer of power — among many others.

In light of the recent Mueller nothing-report, the Democrats suffered a defeat comparable to their historic losses in Plessy v. Ferguson and Bush v. Gore. The fact that the DMIC (Democrat Media Industrial Complex) will continue to have a consuming audience after this weekend further confirms just how dangerous the Democrat voting base is to our Republic. The Democrats propagating these narratives know they’re losers.

Lenin destroyed what was in place to rebuild in his image; this is precisely what these Democrats seek to do. Bipartisanship is the gateway drug to defeat. The 2020 presidential election will be a civil war between the old and new guards of the Democratic Party. Their imbroglio has much to do with the Millennial and Generation Z voting blocs.

Millennials are the largest generation in America’s electorate, and any day now, they will surpass the Baby-Boomer generation as the largest potential voting bloc. Add Generation Zers into the Millennial mix, and the soon to be largest voting bloc in U.S. history will be young adults and 30-somethings who have undergone decades of Ludovico-esque Democrat social engineering that has mass-produced tens of millions of Leninists who don’t know who Lenin was — exactly as he would have wanted it.

Though unverified, Lenin is believed to have coined the term “useful idiot.” He’d blush at the useful idiocy of most Democrat voters, who have deified stupidity. “Give me just one generation of youth,” Lenin said, three months before his revolt, “and I’ll transform the whole world.” Link to Article: https://www.wnd.com/2019/05/maga-make…

“Fascistbook’s” new “Hate” Policy: You might be Labeled a ‘Hate Agent’ | Breitbart

Fakebook reportedly monitors the offline behavior of its users to determine if they should be categorized as a “Hate Agent.”

Facebook reportedly monitors the offline behavior of its users to determine if they should be categorized as a “Hate Agent,” according to a document provided exclusively to Breitbart News by a source within the social media giant.

If you’ve ever insulted a German or been convicted of genocide, you might be on Facebook’s list of hate agents.

Facebook may categorize you as a “hate agent” if you

  • praise the wrong person
  • interview the wrong person
  • appear at events with the wrong person

Here’s Facebook’s Process to Label You a ‘Hate Agent ...

Facebook now has a document entitled the “Hate Agent Policy Review” which will be used to determine if some people will be labeled as a “hate agent” and ultimately be banned from using their platform.

This video of Mark Zuckerberg shows how hard it is to deal with fake news

https://thefederalistpapers.org/us/cartoon-reveals-left-wing-hate-groups-common

“Imagine this for a second: One man, with total control of billions of people’s stolen data, all their secrets, their lives, their futures,” “I owe it all to Spectre. Spectre showed me that whoever controls the data, controls the future.”

Zuckerberg’s likeness says in the video, whose caption includes “#deepfake”.

Facebook may also categorize you as a hate agent if you self-identify with or advocate for a “Designated Hateful Ideology,” if you associate with a “Designated Hate Entity” (one of the examples cited by Facebook as a “hate entity” includes Islam critic Tommy Robinson), or if you have “tattoos of hate symbols or hate slogans.” (The document cites no examples of these, but the media and “anti-racism” advocacy groups increasingly label innocuous items as “hate symbols,” including a cartoon frog and the “OK” hand sign.)

Facebook will also categorize you as a hate agent for possession of “hate paraphernalia,” although the document provides no examples of what falls into this category.

The document also says Facebook will categorize you as a hate agent for “statements made in private but later made public.” Of course, Facebook holds vast amounts of information on what you say in public and in private — and as we saw with the Daily Beast doxing story, the platform will publicize private information on their users to assist the media in hitjobs on regular American citizens.

The Communist Takeover Of America – 45 Declared Goals

The 45 Communist Goals Democrats Thought They Had Fulfilled

On January 10, 1963, the House of Representatives and later the Senate began reviewing a document entitled ‘Communist Goals for Taking Over America.’  It contained an agenda of 45 separate issues (attacks and techniques) that, in hindsight, were quite shocking then and equally stunning today.

Over the last 50 plus years since this list was introduced in the House, many things have changed, among them that the Soviet Union is gone and Communism isn’t mentioned by the controlled MSM anymore.  Why? Because the founders of Communism, World Zionism, is now the dominant force in the Western World and controls virtually every major geopolitical, social, cultural and commercial aspect of our existence.

CLEO54123: Muslim Brotherhood and Communist plans for America

Most importantly, about 27 of the 45 Communist (Zionist) Goals on the original list have been or are being achieved.  (History has largely retired the other 18).   These remaining 27 items will…or should…shock you.  It is essential to also understand that World Zionism CREATED Communism, took down Russia, set up the Soviet Union and created two World Wars in which over 100 million died.  Whether the term is ‘Communism’ or ‘Bolshevism’ or ‘Socialism’  or ‘Marxism‘ they all emanate from one source – World Zionism.  That must never be forgotten.

So, as you read through this list, understand and never forget that these goals, most now 100% implemented, are all ZIONIST goals.

Here, in part, are the most blatant Zionist Communist achievements listed in that original list of 45 Goals.   Read this group very carefully…these are the most sweeping, revolutionary, devastating and deadly Goals on the list from 1963.  ( I will list all original 45 further down the page.)   […]

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, astonishing accounts of torture inside Chinese labor camps, detention centers, and jails have been reported, but taking photos or video footage inside these places has never been possible, much less smuggling such material out of them.

A Falun Gong practitioner named Yu Ming changed this.

He took footage inside Masanjia labor camp and Benxi Prison, and also managed to smuggle the video out.

In Benxi Prison, Yu documented with his hidden video cameras the deaths of two practitioners due to torture. This is their story.

In 2017, Yu was detained in the hospital of Benxi Prison in Liaoning Province for practicing Falun Gong. This was his fourth imprisonment. There he would meet fellow practitioner Hu Guojian, both swept up by the persecution.

The then-head of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin, feared the popularity of Falun Gong and in particular how its traditional moral teachings might prove more attractive to the Chinese people than the CCP’s atheist and materialist ideology.

In July 1999, Jiang ordered a campaign to eradicate the practice.

Hu Guojian, a 45 year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Fushun City in northeastern China’s Liaoning Province was arrested on July 7, 2015, five years after he was released from a ten-year imprisonment.  This time he was sentenced to four years in prison.

On May 4, 2016, Hu was transferred to Benxi Prison, where he was subject to hard labor, sleep deprivation, and lack of food. When his wife visited him 19 days later on, she was alarmed to find that he had lost one-third of his weight, from more than 200 pounds to less than 110 pounds.

President Trump SLAMS Dems and Media as they Lose Control – Pelosi Compromised, it Seems

President Trump on Wednesday demanded Democrats end what he called their “phony investigations” before he’ll negotiate with them on issues like infrastructure, as he delivered a fiery statement from the Rose Garden after a meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer was cut short.

The president railed against the various congressional probes during his solo appearance, and rejected Pelosi’s allegations moments earlier of a “cover-up.”

“So I just wanted to let you know that I walked into the room and I told Sen. Schumer, Speaker Pelosi, I want to do infrastructure,”

Trump told reporters.

“I want to do it more than you want to do it. I would be really good at that. That’s what I do. But you know what? You can’t do it under these circumstances. So get these phony investigations over with.”

Earlier in the day, Pelosi told reporters

“we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a cover-up—a cover-up.”

“Instead of walking in happily into a meeting, I walk in to look at people that have just said that I was doing a cover up,” Trump said. “I don’t do cover-ups.”

Trump, who stood at a podium displaying a sign that said “no collusion, no obstruction,” also lashed out at media for their coverage of the Russia probe.

“This whole thing was a take-down attempt at the president of the United States, and honestly you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for the way you reported so dishonestly,”

he said.

Last month, Schumer and Pelosi said Trump had agreed to support a $2 trillion infrastructure spending package. But, at the time, they said no decisions on how to pay for the plan.

The president – a real estate developer before he was elected president – has long sought to strike a big infrastructure deal, but has faced some resistance from conservatives in his party over concerns about the country’s rising debt.

But questions have remained over whether Pelosi and Schumer can strike deal with Trump on infrastructure, even as congressional Democrats ramp up investigations of the president and subpoena members of his administration in the wake of the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report.

Mounting evidence tells a terrible tale of murder and mutilation in China. Reports from witnesses and Chinese physicians reveal that thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been killed for their organs, which are sold and transplanted at enormous profit in the transplant trade.

The perpetrators are officials of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), acting in collaboration with surgeons, prison authorities, and military officials.

Victims are held in concentration camps prior to having their organs harvested, after which the bodies are immediately cremated.

The story, almost too dreadful to believe, was first revealed in March 2006, when a woman claimed that as many as 4,000 Falun Gong had been killed for their organs at the hospital in which she had worked. She also said that her husband, a surgeon at the same hospital outside the northeastern city of Shenyang, had disclosed to her that he had removed cornea from the living bodies of 2,000 Falun Gong practitioners.

One week later, a Chinese military doctor not only corroborated the woman’s account but claimed that such atrocities were taking place in 36 different concentration camps throughout the country. The largest, he said, held 120,000 persons. He said he had also witnessed Falun Gong practitioners being massively transported across the country in cattle trains, at night and under the cover of tight security.

Falun Gong supporters and human rights activists overseas immediately began investigating the allegations. They placed calls to Chinese hospitals pretending to be shopping for a kidney or a liver. To their horror, one doctor after another openly confirmed: We’ve got Falun Gong in stock; just come in and we can get you the organ within a week.

Shocked by these reports, two prominent Canadian human rights lawyers launched their own investigation. In July 2006, former Secretary of State for Asia Pacific David Kilgour and Human Rights lawyer David Matas published their 140-page report, which drew “the regrettable conclusion that the allegations are true.” Their research also concluded that the large number of organs transplanted in China since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999 could not possibly have been provided by voluntary donors or executed prisoners. See Bloody Harvest

CCP officials are reportedly hastening to destroy all evidence. They have provided monitored tours and removed websites that advertised organs for sale (though not in time, as investigators had already managed to save images of these web pages). One Chinese website had boasted that it could provide matching organs in 1-4 weeks, which medical experts say is impossible unless the Chinese hospitals have access to a huge stock of living organ “donors.”

Democrats Live in the ‘Land of Make Believe’ with Unicorns and Fairies

When it is pointed out to advocates of socialism that all past attempts have failed — Russia/Soviet Union, Venezuela and Cuba, for example — they revert to claiming that their model is similar to Scandinavian countries like Sweden and Denmark.

This was made clear by the prime minister of Denmark, who, in a speech at the Kennedy School of Government said,

“I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy.”

Conservative Resurgence Published on Apr 25, 2019

In the aftermath of the Great Recession, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) have been able to sell the false notion that our economic system is rigged and that the pain caused by the Great Recession was the result of corporate greed and exploitation.

Lost in all of this is the fact that government policy to make home ownership available to all was the predicate for subsequent corporate irresponsibility.

None the less, the Great Recession led to a greater focus on income and wealth inequality, which have gotten worse in recent years.

Until recently, wages for middle- and low-income Americans have been growing more slowly, college graduates are being saddled with large educational debt, good jobs seem to be fewer, and there is pessimism about the current generation being better off economically than their parents. Growing pessimism about the future has replaced optimism. Criticism of capitalism has increased substantially.

In a 2014 opinion piece in the New York Times, Tyler Cower, a professor at George Mason University, made the following point:

“The message from groups like Occupy Wall Street has been that inequality is up and that capitalism is failing us. A more correct and nuanced message is this: Although significant economic problems remain, we have been living in equalizing times for the world — a change that has been largely for the good. That may not make for convincing sloganeering, but it’s the truth.”

The 2016 presidential race gave Bernie Sanders the platform to promote “democratic socialism” and awaken millions of millennials from political apathy. It’s not clear what democratic socialism is, but it has been conflated with socialism.

Young people see socialism as superior to free-market capitalism as reflected in polling data. Those who like socialism ignore how capitalism has eliminated many of mankind’s worst problems, such as pestilence and gross hunger and poverty while providing a strong record of economic growth and advances in technology. Socialism has accomplished just the opposite.

The one explanation for the disconnect between polling data and facts is that capitalism is being evaluated against a nonexistent utopia that will provide free education, universal health care and equality of incomes, all without exploding the national debt or cratering the economy.

The reality is quite different. Estimates of the 10-year costs of these freebies is staggering — $42 trillion, or twice the current national debt. Before all of this could happen, Margaret Thatcher’s observation that, “Pretty soon you run out of other people’s money” would cause the brakes to be applied.

When it is pointed out to advocates of socialism that all past attempts have failed — Russia/Soviet Union, Venezuela and Cuba, for example — they revert to claiming that their model is similar to Scandinavian countries like Sweden and Denmark.

The advocates confuse socialism with what is actually known as social democracy, wherein the government promotes a welfare agenda through taxation and spending, using market-based economics to generate wealth.

In those nations, the means of production are privately owned — 90 percent in Sweden for example — not state-owned.

This was made clear by the prime minister of Denmark, who, in a speech at the Kennedy School of Government said,

“I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy.”

While advocates might concede definitional misstatements, they also will no doubt contend that Scandinavian countries are better off. They can point to universal health care, free college tuition and a generous safety net as evidence that we should be more like Denmark or Norway.

Superficial comparisons are dangerous and misleading. Trying to compare Denmark and Sweden to the United States is analogous to using the turning radius of a speed boat to draw inference about turning a cruise liner.

The so-called Nordic model works in these small countries — Denmark’s population is 5.7 million; Sweden’s is 8.9 million — because of a culture with strong emphasis on work and individual responsibility combined with homogenous populations and the wealth-creation of capitalism.

The solution to many of the problems that the critics of capitalism cite is not to make the government even more powerful but to reverse the growth in crony capitalism that spreads because of the symbiotic relationship between legislators, regulators and business leaders who use their wealth to bias the system. As Winston Churchill remarked, “Capitalism is the worst form of government, save all others.”

Mass Immigration Is A Weapon In The White-On-White Amerikan Civil War

Back in 1965, Amerikan Leftists decided the way The United States handled immigration via quotas didn’t produce significant enough levies of far left voters and desperately poor workers. They therefore decried it as — you guessed it — ¡RACIST!

In place of that policy, they enacted the Hart-Celler Act of 1965. This act had the following impact on US immigration numbers.

Incriminating Phone Calls: Doctors Admit to Live Harvesting of Falun Gong Adherents’ Organs in China

When investigators in Canada began looking into allegations of forced organ harvesting on a mass scale in China, one of the ways they gathered information was making phone calls to the hospitals involved posing as patients needing an organ.

It was back in 2006 that former secretary of state David Kilgour and human rights lawyer David Matas uncovered evidence that Falun Gongprisoners of conscience were being killed on demand to supply China’s organ transplant industry.

Their subsequent report, titled “Bloody Harvest: The Killing of Falun Gong for Their Organs,” concluded that imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners were indeed being used to service a lucrative and burgeoning transplant industry.

One of the many methods the researchers used in their investigation was to call the hospitals in China where organ harvesting takes place and speak to medical professionals, assuming the identity of a transplant patient or the relative of someone in need of an organ. In many cases, those they spoke to admitted that they were sourcing organs for transplant from Falun Gong practitioners.

The following is a transcript of some of the recorded calls (translated from Mandarin) documented in the 2006 and 2016 reports as well as from the China Organ Harvest Research Center.

‘This Thing is Just Like A Supply Line’

Zhongshan Hospital Organ Transplant Clinic, Shanghai, March 16, 2006:

Investigator: So how long do I have to wait [for organ transplant surgery]?

Doctor: About a week after you come

Investigator: Is there the kind of organs that come from Falun Gong? I heard that they are very good.

Doctor: All of ours are those types.

Chen Qiang, a kidney source liaison at the People’s Liberation Army Hospital No. 307 in Fengtai, Beijing, April 10, 2007:

Investigator: By the way, how can you be so sure [the source] will be a Falun Gong practitioner? Can you find out for sure?

Chen: How to identify a Falun Gong practitioner? Well, when the time comes, then our side, our boss will have people showing you information. You can be sure. We have connections with government officials. There are connections to high-ranking officials. I will show you such material even if you don’t ask me for it.

Investigator: You know that several years ago, they secretly detained many Falun Gong practitioners who went to appeal but did not provide their names. There were no records, no registrations.

Chen: Yes, this is quite normal. If Falun Gong practitioners did not give their names, they would be given a code. If their names couldn’t be identified, there would be their code numbers. Also, one can be tracked by fingerprints. … Like our boss, like the connections to the detention centers, I cannot say casually. We have close relationships with them. Since we are engaging in this business, we have our people in each and every department. How can you get things done if we don’t have our connections? This thing is just like a supply line, you know?

Chief Physician Xu, Air Force Hospital of Chendu City, April 29, 2006:

Investigator: The patient emphasizes that he wants the organ of the young and healthy. The best is from those who practice Falun Gong. Will he have this kind of chance?

Xu: Yes.

Investigator: Yes ?

Xu: He will have this opportunity.

Investigator: It should be from the young and healthy, who practice Falun Gong!

Xu: No Problem.

“Chinese Tourists Need to See This” – 6,000 Falun Gong Practitioners Gather in Taipei for Large-scale Pattern Formation

November 28, 2016 | By Minghui correspondent Zheng Yuyan in Taipei, Taiwan

(Minghui.org) Visitors to Taipei’s landmark Liberty Square were met with a magnificent sight this past weekend. Six thousand Falun Gong practitioners, who had come to Taipei for the annual Falun Gong Cultivation Experience Conference, were peacefully sitting together to form the pattern of the Falun Gong emblem and Chinese written characters.

The Chinese characters under the Falun symbol stand for “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” the central teaching of Falun Gong.
The Falun pattern measured about 1,000 square meters. The “卍” pattern in the middle is an ancient symbol from Buddhism, and the yin-yang pattern is a symbol from the Daoist School. The Falun thus symbolizes the combination of both the Buddhist and Daoist Schools.
Practitioners do the Falun Gong exercises together after the large-scale pattern formation.

45. Repeal the Connally Reservation…

The Naked Communist

In 1946 when the United States Senate was debating the aspects of the UN Charter, Sen. Tom Connaly (D-TX) restricted the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice in domestic matters, assuring that only the United States could dictate the Court’s jurisdiction.  In 1959, Sen Hubert Humphry proposed repealing this restriction with bi-partisan support from Democrats like William Fulbright and Republicans like Dwight Eisenhower who said “True peace and friendship throughout the world cannot come to pass unless there is an international rule of law.”  Despite this support, the public objected and the Humphrey Resolution never came forward for a vote and a vote for repeal has not been seriously offered since.

But there may be no need for a Senate vote as the United States can simply positively affirm the right of the United Nations to have jurisdiction over certain domestic matters.  The Connally Reservation does not prevent the…
